Psychological opinion is not the legal decision
The psychologist does not determine credibility, immigration status, refugee status or entitlement to international protection. Those decisions remain with the relevant legal and decision making bodies.
The report addresses psychological questions within the clinician’s competence and the instruction provided, with limitations and sources of information stated clearly.

What can an immigration psychological report address?
Depending on the instruction, it may address psychological presentation, trauma related symptoms, functioning, vulnerability, treatment needs, neurodevelopmental factors and clinically relevant effects on engagement with interviews or legal processes.
Does the psychologist decide whether an asylum or immigration account is credible?
No. The report provides an independent psychological opinion. Credibility and the legal outcome are matters for the relevant decision maker or court.
