Adult ADHD can look different across people

Some adults present with obvious restlessness or impulsivity. Others describe chronic procrastination, inconsistent focus, time-management problems, difficulty starting tasks, emotional overload or intense effort used to compensate.

A careful assessment considers whether difficulties were present developmentally, whether they occur across contexts and whether another condition, stressor, sleep problem, substance use pattern or medical issue could better explain part of the picture.
